Attorney Zack Johnson
Overview
I am a litigation attorney representing Minnesota employees and executives in employment matters involving wrongful termination, discrimination, sexual harassment, retaliation, whistleblower claims, severance negotiations, non-compete disputes, and related litigation. I also represent adult and child survivors of sexual abuse and harassment, as well as families pursuing wrongful death claims involving fatal negligence or misconduct.
Employment & Executive Representation
My practice is rooted in firsthand experience on both sides. Before representing individuals, I advised some of the world's largest employers—including Amazon, UnitedHealth Group, and Deloitte—on HR/employment matters, investigations, and risk strategy. I regularly counseled HR, compliance teams, and leadership on assessing liability and resolving complex employment issues, including discipline, termination, and severance decisions. That inside perspective now informs how I advocate for employees and executives navigating those same systems.
Law Enforcement & Investigative Background
Prior to practicing law, I spent nearly a decade in law enforcement—six years as a military police officer in the U.S. Marine Corps, followed by several years in federal law enforcement. I later conducted and advised on internal investigations involving whistleblower complaints, employment law violations, fraud, and workplace misconduct. This background taught me how to build cases from the ground up—a skill I now apply to litigating employment disputes, sexual abuse claims across corporate, educational, religious, and youth organization settings, and wrongful death lawsuits on behalf of grieving families.
In every case, I bring a direct, strategic, and client-centered approach to helping individuals stand up to powerful institutions and hold them accountable.
